Happy Birthday to Ms. Clara Harvey, Celebrating her 100th Birthday in April

A birthday celebration today of 100 years, right here in Somerville!
Meet Clara Harvey… born
Clara Van Ness on April 26, 1923!!!
Her parents were Thomas Van Ness Sr. and Jenny Van Ness, nee Jackson. Clara was born and raised in Somerville and is the only surviving sibling of six brothers and two sisters. Clara married Aboson Stewart Oakley and they had 3 children, Richard, Jenny Ann and Tommy. All graduates of Somerville High School. Clara then settled in Plainfield NJ however her ties to Somerville remain strong to this day.

Clara’s son Richard Oakley has devoted his life to Law Enforcement and Stewart Thomas Oakley, known as Tommy to Somerville folks, dedicated his life to educating thousands of our children in the Somerville Schools. Jenny Ann is her mother’s caregiver. Clara always enjoyed cooking for her family and loved her crossword puzzles.

Living history right here in our 2.5 square miles of awesome…Happy Birthday Clara what an amazing milestone in our Somerville!"
