Bridgewater-Raritan High School boys’ and girls’ bowling teams both swept to 7-0 victories

The Bridgewater-Raritan High School boys’ and girls’ bowling teams both swept to 7-0 victories at home against Watchung Hills Regional High School on Monday, December 18, at Bowlero in Green Brook.

After not having a team last season, the Bridgewater-Raritan girls picked up their first victory of 2023-2024, which marked their first team triumph since their regular season finale two years ago, which was a similar 7-0 triumph against South Hunterdon Regional High School January 24, 2022.

On Monday afternoon, the Panthers won their three games by scores of 565-486, 517-482, and 595-460 and secured an overall pin advantage of 1,677-1,428. Junior Lily Korsun knocked down a team-high 362 pins, while classmate Izzie Knapp bowled the team-high-game of 147 in game three and finished with 356 total pins. Freshman Sia Agarwala rolled a high game of 120 in game two en route 328 total pins, and fellow Class of 2027 members London Smalls and Edgar Gupta collected 308 and 295 total pins, respectively, with high games of 125 and 129 each in game one. Junior Skylar Santiago rounded out the scoring with 285 total pins and a high game of 102 in game two for the Bridgewater-Raritan girls, who improved their record to 1-3.

The Bridgewater-Raritan boys improved to 3-1 and bounced back after their first loss of the season against Warren Hills Regional High School: the No. 2 ranked team in all of
New Jersey. In what has now been 11 total match victories they have collected since the start of last season, each of them have now been in 7-0 fashion after Monday’s result, which went 875-648, 912-671, and 910-665 the Panthers’ way in games one, two, and three en route to a 2,697-1,984 total pin advantage. Senior Mike Lentini led the way with 636 total pins on scores of 211, 214, and 211 in games one, two, and three, while senior Joe D’Elia capped off his 600-pin day with a team-high-game of 230 pins in game three. Fellow Class of 2024 member Zach Leon produced 528 pins on the afternoon with a high game of 181 in game three, sophomore Dom D’Amato tallied 478 pins with a high game of 165 in game two, while junior Joe Barron delivered 455 pins with a high game of 171 in game two to round out the scoring results for the Bridgewater-Raritan boys.

The Bridgewater-Raritan boys and girls will now both try for another pair of victories when South Hunterdon makes the trip to Green Brook on Tuesday, December 19, at 3:15 p.m. at Bowlero.
