Somerset Regional Animal Shelter - Captain Griggs is now ready for a forever home
Meet Captain Griggs! This fella has quite a tale of rescue to go with his name! On a cold day in early November, Animal Control Officer Jessie and her friend Dana decided to go kayaking. Little did they know they’d save a life that day! Jess and Dana pulled up on an island in their kayaks and an underweight, senior cat jumped in Dana’s kayak.
He stayed on Dana’s lap for the next hour and a half! Dana fostered him, giving him a warm safe place and some good groceries to bring his weight back up. Jess posted on social media to find an owner but no one came forward. Captain Griggs is now ready for a forever home!
He’s a sweet, loving boy who did well in Dana’s home. He's very friendly, easygoing and calm. Likes attention and pets. He loves Temptations treats!
He seems ok with respectful dogs and some cats. He’s about 11 years old and has plenty of energy and love to give! To meet our little adventurer, stop by Somerset Regional Animal Shelter. We’re open 12-3:30 pm.
