Richard Hall Community Health & Wellness Center to Host Informational Open Houses in May

BRIDGEWATER, NJ – In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, Richard Hall Community Health & Wellness Center (RHCHWC) will sponsor an open house to provide residents with information about its mental health services and programs. There will be a brief presentation, a “meet and greet” with the staff, and a fun wellness activity at the open houses.

Visitors can attend any of the four Open House sessions occurring on Thursday, May 9, from 10 to 11 a.m., or 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., and Monday, May 13, from 5 to 6 p.m. or 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. The Open Houses take place at RHCHWC, 500 North Bridge Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.

Services and Programs at RHCHWC

RHCHWC provides comprehensive and integrated behavioral health services dedicated to the prevention and treatment of mental health, substance use, gambling challenges, as well as onsite primary care and dental services through a partnership with the Zufall Health Center. The Center provides services with sliding-scale fees to County residents of all ages.

Services include traditional outpatient counseling, family therapy, art therapy and intensive outpatient programs for adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. A full staff of prescribers and nurses provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management. Reach 4 Recovery assists participants with addressing their ambivalence in recovery and the Traumatic Loss Coalition for Youth helps school-aged youth who have experienced a traumatic event or sudden loss in the school or community. Project Outreach is a program that assists those individuals who are unhoused or at risk of losing their housing and have a mental health diagnosis, and Supported Employment assists individuals to integrate into the competitive workforce.

Wellness Programs at RHCHWC
RHCHWC has a variety of wellness programs, such as yoga, art, and music therapy, gardening, nutrition, equine-assisted therapy and more. A wellness room has stationary bikes, treadmills, and a rowing machine.

About Mental Health Awareness Month

Mental Health Awareness Month occurs every May to increase awareness about the vital role mental health plays in the overall well-being of individuals. During Mental Health Awareness Month, mental health professionals and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) help raise greater awareness about mental health by helping to reduce the stigma through initiatives and outreach, encouraging conversation about mental well-being, and emphasizing the importance of seeking mental health support when it is needed.
