BRIDGEWATER – Kyle Maria of Bedminster, a Junior in the Mechatronics program at Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School (SCVTHS), has been selected as Student of the Month for June 2024. Kyle is the son of Julianna and Steven Maria.
Kyle’s calculus teacher, Ms. Selma Hannan, recommended him for the honor. In her nomination, Ms. Hannan spoke about Kyle’s hard work, and said that he has been “an active participant in the class discussion, although he always does so quietly and respectfully.”
At SCVTHS, Kyle is a member of both the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society, and is active in the school’s FIRST Robotics Club.
Kyle also keeps busy when he’s not at school. He works at Kings supermarket and he is very involved with his Boy Scout troop. In his down-time, he enjoys reading, playing video games, and watching YouTube.
After graduating as part of the class of 2025, Kyle plans on attending a four-year college where he plans on studying mechanical engineering. He hopes to pursue a career in robotics.
