RVCC Planetarium Plans Laser Concerts Featuring Kids’ Tunes, Music by Taylor Swift, Led Zeppelin

The August lineup at the Raritan Valley Community College Planetarium in Branchburg includes laser concerts that feature music for young children, as well as programs highlighting tunes by such artists as Taylor Swift and Led Zeppelin. The Planetarium’s laser show schedule in August includes:

  • Led Zeppelin laser concert, Fridays, August 2 & 9, 9 p.m.
  • Laser Kids laser concert, Wednesday, August 7, 3:30 p.m., and Thursdays, August 1 & 8, 3:30 p.m.
  • Lasers for Littles, Wednesdays, August 14 & 21, 3:30 p.m., and Thursdays, August 15 & 22, 3:30 p.m.
  • Taylor Swift laser concert, Fridays, August 16 & 23, 9 p.m.

Additional Planetarium events planned in August include a program focusing on traveling to Mars, and children’s shows ranging from “Space Shapes & Tycho to the Moon,” to “Rockin’ Rocket Ride,” to “Attack of the Space Pirates.” For a complete list of all RVCC Planetarium shows open to the public, visit https://www.raritanval.edu/planetarium/public-shows.

Planetarium tickets cost $10 for one show, $18 for two shows back-to-back on the same day. Reservations are recommended, but all ticket sales are done at the door on the day of the show. Planetarium laser shows include loud music, flashing lights, and rapidly moving graphics, all in a dark environment, and therefore may not be recommended for those who are sensitive to these conditions or have a medical condition that could be exacerbated by them.
