Somerset County Commissioner Douglas Singleterry at the Somerset County Fire Academy Graduation
The Somerset County Fire Academy recently graduated another class of Firefighters I and II. Our local fire departments are protected by hundreds of volunteers, many of whom put their lives at risk to protect our families, homes, and businesses. Volunteer firefighters are essential because they ensure rapid response times during emergencies, often arriving on the scene before full-time crews. Their dedication helps communities save on costs associated with maintaining a fully paid firefighting force. Moreover, their local knowledge and commitment foster a strong sense of community resilience and support.
