Employers, Agencies Invited to Participate in October Community Events in Somerset County

Employer and agency pre-registration is open for two upcoming events in Somerset County to include the 2024 DISABILITY Expo & Job Fair on Saturday, Oct. 5, and the Veterans Resource, Job and Wellness Fair, on Thursday, Oct. 10. The two free events will be conducted at the Senior Wellness Center at Bridgewater, 876 E. Main St., next to the TD Bank Ballpark.

2024 DisABILITY Expo & Job Fair

This DisABILITY Exp is presented by the Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services in partnership with the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board. The event hours are 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 5.

The event is for job seekers and community members, to connect them with open positions and agency services in the region, and also for employers and agencies to highlight their open positions and services. The event will include two workshops on Emergency Preparedness and a Personal Assistance Services program. Transportation assistance for community members also will be available.

Vendor table space is limited. Employers and agencies interested in attending this event should click here or use the QR code in this flyer to pre-register. There is no charge to take part. Registration will close Friday, Sept. 13.

Veterans Resource, Job and Wellness Fair

The Veterans event is sponsored by the Somerset County Commissioners and the Greater Workforce Development Board (GRWDB). The event is open to those who served the country and their spouses, and the event hours are 3 to 6 p.m. Oct. 10.

Local, county and state agencies offering information on veterans and related social services and employers looking to fill open positions are invited to pre-register. There is no charge to take part. Employers must have open positions for veterans that can be full-time or part-time. The event also will feature free wellness opportunities for the veterans in attendance, and opening remarks will be given by Commissioner Director Robinson.
