SCVTHS Student Artist Chosen as Runner-Up in Art Competition

BRIDGEWATER – Deeksha Chaganur of Bridgewater, a Sophomore enrolled in the Academy for Health & Medical Sciences at Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School (SCVTHS), has been named as a runner-up in the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for New Jersey’s Seventh Congressional District. The award was presented by Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) during the Congressional Art Competition Recognition Event held in Flemington on May 4.
Ms. Chaganur’s artwork, “Pines and Petals,” was among 51 pieces submitted for review by a panel of judges that included professional artists and educators. Her work was selected to be included in a rotating exhibit displayed in Congressman Kean’s offices in New Jersey and Washington D.C. over the next year.
"Our district is home to many exceptionally talented young artists, and the incredible submissions we received this year were truly impressive," said Congressman Kean. He also thanked the art teachers, judges, and families for their support, and praised the creativity and dedication of the student artists.
