Somerset County Office on Aging & Disability Services Seeks Nominations for Centenarians
(For Immediate Release – Somerset County, NJ): In recognition of National Centenarian’s Day, the Somerset County Office on Aging & Disabilities Services (OOADS) wants to honor residents aged 100 years or more at a ceremony to be held at the end of September. Caregivers and loved ones can help identify centenarians by submitting nominations to the OOADS by Monday, September 15, 2025.
To nominate a centenarian, complete the online registration form at https://bit.ly/Centenarian2025. Registration forms can also be obtained by contacting Ellen Russo via email at OfficeAging@co.somerset.nj.us. Residents should submit completed registration forms via fax at (908) 595-0194, Attention: Ellen Russo, or send an email to Ellen Russo at OfficeAging@co.somerset.nj.us.
Centenarian Recognition Ceremony, Friday, September 26
The Centenarian Recognition Ceremony will take place at the Somerset County Senior Wellness Center at Bridgewater, located at 876 East Main Street, in Bridgewater, NJ 08807, at 10:45 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2025. The registration deadline for the event is September 11, 2025.
The free event will include a certificate of awards ceremony, attendance by a Somerset County Commissioner, and a performance by Roberta Foster who is a ukulele musician and vocalist. Roberta Foster’s repertoire will include Broadway show tunes and popular music from the ‘40s, ‘50s, and ‘60s. Lunch will be served at 12 p.m. Centenarians who are unable to attend the ceremony will receive a certificate from the OOADS.
National Centenarian’s Day provides the County with an opportunity to honor the wisdom and infinite life experiences centenarians contribute to society.
