106 Bridgewater-Raritan High School students—were honored with a National Recognition Award
A total of 106 Bridgewater-Raritan High School students—members of both the upcoming senior and junior classes—were honored with the National Recognition Award from the College Board.
This August, the College Board awarded over 280,000 students from across the country academic honors through the annual National Recognition Program.
The College Board website stated that it is a mission-driven, not-for-profit organization that connects students to college success.
The Bridgewater-Raritan High School students received either the School Recognition Award or the First Generation Recognition Award.
The School Recognition Award is based on participation in the PSAT or AP Exams and having a GPA of B+ or better.
The First Generation Recognition Award honors students whose parents did not complete a bachelor's degree, took the PSAT or AP exam, and earned a GPA of B+ or better.
According to Alan Iachini, the Supervisor of School Counseling at Bridgwater-Raritan High School, the purpose of the awards is to help these students stand out to colleges.
