Somerset County Park Commission Celebrates Veterans Day with Free Golf for Veterans and Active-Duty Military Personnel

The Somerset County Park Commission will honor local United States veterans and active-duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces with an offer of free rounds of golf on Veterans Day, November 11, 2025. The offer to golf for free will be available at Green Knoll Golf Course in Bridgewater, Spooky Brook Golf Course in Franklin, Quail Brook Golf Course in Franklin, and Neshanic Valley Golf Course in Branchburg.“Somerset County residents have served the United States honorably in its armed forces since the Revolutionary War,” said Somerset County Commissioner Director and Air Force veteran Shanel Y. Robinson.
“These free rounds of golf are a token of appreciation for their service on Veterans Day as we celebrate the men and women who risked their lives to give us our American way of life.”Veterans and active-duty personnel will have early access to book tee times by calling the appropriate course directly from October 29 until November 4th, ensuring that there are sufficient tee times for all eligible golfers.
Those wishing to take advantage of the offer are encouraged to do so before November 4th, as tee times will be opened via the online booking system to all golfers – including golfers eligible for this offer -- as normal on November 5th.
When arriving for their free round on Veterans Day, eligible golfers must present either a Somerset County Veterans Identification Card available from the Somerset County Clerk’s Office or appropriate military identification, such as a Common Access Card, which displays the branch of service.
Veterans and active-duty personnel can book a tee time for themselves and up to three other members of their foursome.
Green's fees and cart fees will be waived for qualifying veterans and active-duty personnel. Any non-eligible golfers in their party will be charged applicable fees.

The Somerset County Park Commission
The Somerset County Park Commission stewards nearly 15,000 acres of county-owned open space, which is visited by two million park users each year. Five golf courses have three driving ranges, a pitch and putt course, and a recreational putting course. Other attractions include a riding stable, an environmental education center, two tennis facilities, an outdoor pool, paddle boating, a rock and rare plant garden, an award-winning rose garden, an arboretum, and a sensory and fragrance garden. Six county parks also offer amenities, such as athletic fields, picnic facilities, bike paths, fishing, birdwatching, cross-country skiing, and hiking.
