The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Police Training Institute has announced that registration for the 2026 Somerset County Police Youth Week has been extended to June 30, 2026. This popular summer program returns July 13–17, 2026, running daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Police Youth Week is a hands‑on, community‑focused initiative that brings local high school students together with law enforcement officers for a week of learning, teamwork, and leadership development. Participants gain a behind‑the‑scenes look at policing through:

  • Interactive demonstrations
  • Physical training and team‑building challenges
  • Workshops on public safety, decision‑making, and career pathways
  • Mentorship from officers and community partners

The program is designed to build trust, strengthen communication, and help young people better understand the role of law enforcement in their communities.

Eligibility:
Open to Somerset County high school students — from those graduating 8th grade through 2026 high school graduates.

Cost:
There is NO COST to participate. The program is sponsored by the Somerset County Association of Chiefs of Police.

The week concludes on Friday, July 17, 2026, with a formal Commencement Ceremony celebrating each participant’s accomplishments.

Flyers are available in English and Spanish, and students can register by scanning the QR code on the flyer.
