SOMERVILLE, NJ – Somerset County Commissioner Director Shanel Y. Robinson has selected

40 nonprofit organizations to receive tickets for use of the Commissioners’ private suite at TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater. Winners of the annual County Board of Commissioners Community Suite Drawing will have the opportunity to enjoy a home game to see the Somerset Patriots at one of the nation’s “Best Independent Ballparks,” according to Ballpark Digest. Opening day at the ballpark is April 12 and there will be a special post-game fireworks show that night.

“Our dedicated nonprofits went above and beyond to support county residents through COVID and Hurricane Ida. We are so grateful to the employees and volunteers who tirelessly continue to serve our residents,” said Commissioner Director Robinson. “This tradition is a way for us to show our gratitude to those organizations that provide the vital services that our residents need.”

The Commissioners’ suite comes with 30 tickets to the game, comfortable couches in a climate controlled indoor suite, plus seats along the third-base line to watch the game. Nonprofits who have been selected to use the suite can use it to reward top volunteers and donors, host a fundraiser, or bring clients out for a fun evening to watch the AA Yankee Affiliate Patriots compete against some of the best teams in minor league baseball.

Winners are nonprofit organizations with a client base consisting of at least 50 percent Somerset County residents, community organizations located in Somerset County, or organizations that have a facility based in Somerset County and are serving Somerset County residents. All winners have been providing significant community service for Somerset County or providing a volunteer element for the county’s residents.

Tickets are still available for the Patriots’ April 12, Opening Day game against the Erie Seawolves, the AA Affiliate for the Detroit Tigers. In addition to the game at 6:35 p.m., there will be a post-game fireworks show too. Visit https://www.milb.com/somerset for more information about tickets for Opening Day and all season long.
