02/18/2024

Luis A. Gomes-Cortes, 24, of Monmouth Junction, NJ was arrested for DWI during a welfare check. Gomes-Cortes was processed and released with a pending court appearance. NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a theft during the morning hours in the area of Prospect St. The suspect, described as a white or Hispanic male, stole the victim’s purse and a bag of merchandise when she was unloading her vehicle. The stolen merchandise was valued at $40.00. The victim was inside of her residence at the time of theft.

A business located on Elizabeth Ave. was the victim of a theft during the afternoon hours. A black male driving a white Jeep fled the business after filling his vehicle with $35.00 worth of gas that was not paid for.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of criminal mischief during the evening hours in the area of Heather Dr. The unknown suspect(s) kicked the front door to the victim’s residence causing $600.00 in damage. The victim heard multiple voices outside of her front door and surveillance captured two suspect vehicles outside of the victim’s residence during the act.

A Somerset, NJ resident reported a suspicious person just after midnight in the area of Coventry Ln. A black male, wearing dark clothing and ski mask was observed peering into the victim’s window. Patrol canvassed the area with negative results.

A Somerset, NJ resident reported suspicious activity during the evening hours of 02/18/24 in the area of Hillcrest Ave. The victim’s Ring camera captured two black males approach the front door of the residence and then suddenly flee. They left the area in two separate vehicles.

02/20/2024

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a burglary during the early morning hours in the area of Hamilton St. A witness observed an unknown suspect wearing dark clothing and a ski mask rummaging through a vehicle. The suspect fled the area upon observing a patrol car arrive on scene. A canvass for the suspect yielded negative results. Nothing of value was taken from the unlocked vehicle.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of criminal attempt during the morning hours in the area of Maragret Dr. Two black males were observed on the victim’s surveillance system looking into the victim’s vehicles, entering the rear property through a gate, and tampering with his back door. One of the suspects had a crowbar in his hand. The suspects fled when the victim turned on a light inside of the residence. Patrol canvassed the area for the suspects with negative results.

Christina Sblendorio, 32, of Fanwood, NJ was arrested by Clinton Twp. PD for an open warrant out of our jurisdiction. The FTPD took custody of Sblendorio and transported her to Somerset County Jail after she was processed. NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

A New Brunswick, NJ resident was the victim of a theft during the morning hours in the area of School Ave. While filling out a job application inside a business, another applicant stole the victim’s electric bike which was left unsecured outside. The suspect was described as a black male. The bike was valued at $700.00.

A business located on Rt. 27 was the victim of a shoplifting during the evening hours. A Hispanic or white female was captured on surveillance placing items into her purse and exiting the store without paying. Patrol canvassed the area for the suspect with negative results. The value of the stolen merchandise was unknown at the time of the report.

A business located on Rt. 27 was the victim of a shoplifting during the afternoon hours. A Hispanic male filled a reusable bag with $255.00 worth of toothpaste and fled the store without paying. Patrol canvassed the area for the suspect with negative results.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a theft while at a business located on Easton Ave. The unknown suspect(s) stole the victim’s cell phone from a gym locker room. The cell phone was valued at $530.00.

02/23/2024

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a burglary during the early morning hours in the area of Margaret Dr. The unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s residence through an unlocked window and stole a wallet. The residents were home at the time of the burglary.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a motor vehicle theft during the overnight hours in the area of Dunbar St. The vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside. The suspect(s) is unknown. The vehicle was valued at $10,000.00.

A business located on Hamilton St. was the victim of a shoplifting during the morning hours. A white male entered the store and gathered various household items before exiting without paying. The stolen merchandise was valued at a $100.00.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a package theft during the afternoon hours in the area of Alcorne St. A Hispanic male stole a delivered package off of the victim’s porch. The contents were valued at $45.00. Patrol canvassed the area for the suspect with negative results.

Andre S. Brown, 46, of Somerset, NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of our jurisdiction by Clinton Twp. PD. The FTPD took custody of Brown and transported him to Somerset County Jail after he was processed. NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a theft during the morning hours in the area of Harrison St. An unknown male was observed on surveillance stealing a delivered package off of the victim’s porch. The contents were valued at $140.00.

A Perth Amboy, NJ resident was the victim of criminal mischief during the evening hours in the area of Somerset St. Two unknown males wearing dark clothing and ski masks were observed tampering with the victim’s vehicle. They caused $200.00 in damage to the door lock before gaining entry into another vehicle and fleeing the area.

James Owens, 41, of Manville, NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of our jurisdiction by Manville PD. The FTPD took custody of Owens and transported him to Somerset County Jail after he was processed. NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a motor vehicle theft during the overnight hours in the area of Somerset St. The unoccupied vehicle was later located in an outside jurisdiction with damage to the door locks, ignition, and steering column. Two black males are believed to be the suspects.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a gift card scam. The victim received an alert on his computer advising him that his bank account was compromised. The suspect who called himself “Martin,” advised the victim to purchase $2,500.00 worth of gift cards to rectify the situation. The victim provided the serial numbers for the gift cards to the suspect who eventually cashed them.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a package theft during the afternoon hours in the area of Park St. A Hispanic male was captured on surveillance stealing a delivered package off of the victim’s porch. The contents were valued at $10.00.

A Somerset, NJ resident was the victim of a theft while at a business located on Hamilton St. The victim accidentally left an ATM cash withdrawal behind in the machine. Several minutes later she went to retrieve her $60.00 and it was gone. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male.

Alisha S. Akins, 30, of Metuchen, NJ was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of our jurisdiction by Woodbridge PD. The FTPD took custody of Akins and transported her to Somerset County Jail after she was processed. NOTE: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”
