The talk will give a brief history of banks in Somerville and why the building on Maple and Main is especially unique. We’ll take a quick tour of the interior of the bank in its Victorian and its 20th-century version, thanks to period photos and those taken by Round Table members in 2021. At the end, we’ll consider why adaptive reuse currently is the best way to preserve this and Somerville’s other classic bank buildings.
