Espo's Fire in Raritan Borough - Wednesday Afternoon

Image

On July 26th at 3:38 pm, Raritan Patrol Officers and members of the Raritan Borough Fire Department were dispatched to Espo's Restaurant on Second Street for a reported fire.
On scene, patrol officers were met by a heavy smoke condition and observed a fire in a commercial exhaust vent that had spread between a wall next to it.

Members of the Raritan Borough Fire Department and other mutual aid agencies quickly responded to the scene to extinguish the fire. The Raritan Borough Fire Department was assisted by the Somerville Fire Department, Country Hills Fire Department, Bradley Gardens Fire Department, Finderne Fire Department, Manville Fire Department, and RWJ Somerset BLS units.

The NJ Division of Fire Safety conducted a brief investigation and deemed the fire as not suspicious.

Unfortunately, Espo's suffered significant damage causing the business to close for the time being.

We extend our thoughts and best wishes to the Espo's family and their employees in this difficult time.
