SOMERSET COUNTY RUTGERS MASTER GARDENERS HOSTING VEGETABLE GARDEN WORKSHOP

Bridgewater, New Jersey – Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Somerset County, Somerset County Dept. of Agriculture & Natural Resources, and Rutgers Master Gardeners of Somerset County invite you to spend your Earth Day by learning how to care for your home garden or patio planters. The Master Gardeners will be hosting two back-to-back workshops this month, "Vegetable Gardening: From Planting to Harvest" and "Container Gardening", both on Saturday April 22nd, 2023, at the Ted Blum 4-H Center – 310 Milltown Rd, Bridgewater, NJ.

No prior vegetable gardening knowledge is required, and gardeners of all experience levels are welcome.

This event will run from 9:45 AM to 12:15 PM. Pre-registration is required for attendance and costs $20 per person.

Space for this event is limited, and those interested are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

In the first workshop, participants will hear from experienced instructors who will share knowledge on various topics, including soil preparation, planting, and caring for crops. Participants will also learn about organic techniques, vegetable families, and pest/disease control with growing tips for beginners and experienced gardeners.

In the second session, participants will learn about basics of container gardening, from selecting the right containers to choosing the best soil and plants. Register now and taste the difference of home-grown veggies, or bring a touch of nature to your living space with container gardening!
