Non Profit Spotlight Middle Earth: Empowering Somerset County Youth
For more than 50 years, Middle Earth has been a pillar of support for young people in Somerset County. The mission is to provide youth with life skills, mentoring, and positive outlets, the nonprofit creates opportunities that help teens and children build confidence, succeed in school, and grow into strong community leaders.
Recently the mission came to life at Middle Earth’s Bound Brook Youth Center, where the organization hosted a Backpack and School Supply Giveaway for students of all ages. The event was a resounding success, ensuring that children are equipped with the tools they need to begin the school year on the right foot.

This community effort was made possible thanks to generous partners. Insmed donated backpacks, stuffed animals, and reading bags, while United Way contributed backpacks and essential school supplies. Their support not only filled the hands of local students with supplies but also filled hearts with encouragement and optimism.
Middle Earth’s work goes far beyond one event. Year-round, the nonprofit offers mentoring programs, after-school activities, career readiness training, and community service opportunities—all designed to keep young people engaged, supported, and inspired.
By investing in Somerset County’s youth, Middle Earth invests in the future of the entire community.
