When you hear the word “agritourism,” it’s easy to picture rolling farms and bustling farmers markets. Somerset County’s new campaign, Visit Somerset NJ’s #SeededinSomerset, reminds us that agritourism is also about the restaurants that bring local harvests directly to our plates.

Commissioner Sara Sooy recently visited one of these partners, the historic Olde Mill Inn’s Grain House in Basking Ridge. There, she joined Executive Chef John Benjamin and General Manager Glen Isemann for a behind-the-scenes look at how the restaurant infuses farm-fresh ingredients into every dish. From handpicked produce to thoughtfully crafted menus, the Grain House embodies the best of Somerset’s farm-to-table tradition.

As part of her visit, Commissioner Sooy even rolled up her sleeves in the restaurant’s own garden, helping pick sun-ripened tomatoes destined for their Tomato Week specials. It was a perfect example of how local flavor, history, and community come together in one place.

We invite you to explore all of Somerset County’s farm-to-table partners—and, of course, to savor a meal at the beloved Grain House. Discover the full list at: visitsomersetnj.org/farm-to-table-restaurants.
