The next Raritan Borough Council Meeting was Tuesday, 12/02/2025, located at the Raritan Borough Municipal Building.
Major items of discussion included:
BILLBOARD ORDINANCE: Ordinance No. 2025-18: Amending Chapter 207 (Land Use and Development) so as to Update Regulations on Outdoor Advertising Signage. This ordinance will allow for the development of billboard’s along some of Raritan’s major roadways.
AGWAY PROPERTY: The Borough of Raritan is introducing Ordinance No. 2025-21: This ordinance is formalizing a Redevelopment Plan for the Former AGWAY Property. The plan includes many new apartments.
SEWER CHARGE: The Borough of Raritan is introducing Ordinance No. 2025-23: Abolishing and Replacing Chapter 286, Sewers- Establishing Sewer billing based on usage for all users of the system. This will be a significant new charge and a major change for residents.
DESIGNATING ‘IMPROVEMENT’ DISTRICT: Ordinance No. 2025-22: Creating a Special Improvement District within the Borough of Raritan and Designating a District Management Corporation. The purpose of this ordinance is to establish a business district in downtown Raritan and a structure to manage same.
