When SWAT entered the home, they found an adult woman deceased (in advanced decomposition) and a 66-year-old man inside. The man was arrested on firearm charges after officers recovered four handguns from the scene. The investigation into the cause of death is ongoing.

On November 19, a shooting near the shopping center area of Route 206 in Hillsborough (Hillsborough Centre) prompted police to lock down five local schools. A 19-year-old suspect, charged with first-degree attempted murder, unlawful possession of a handgun, and related weapons offenses, surrendered to authorities several hours later. No one was killed.
Cyber-harassment case involving a teacher — Bridgewater-Raritan school district
On November 14, a special-services teacher from the district was charged with stalking and cyber-harassing a teenage victim in a sex-crime case involving a coach. Authorities say the teacher sent anonymous obscene letters and social-media messages aiming to discredit the victim.
