There’s Still Time to Take in the Amazing 47th Festival of Trees This Holiday Weekend

BASKING RIDGE, NJ – There’s still time to join the thousands of people who have celebrated the holiday season at the 47th Festival of Trees. The end-of-year Festival, hosted by the Environmental Education Center (EEC) in Basking Ridge, is a multi-room wonderland of more than 50 holiday trees designed and decorated by incredibly talented local organizations and individuals. 

Some of the most popular trees this year are:

  • I’ll be GNOME for Christmas
  • Gifts from the Parks
  • It’s a Holly Jolly Flamingo
  • Joy to the World: Let the Music Ring Out!

The Festival of Trees will be closed on December 24 and 25 in observance of the holiday, but will reopen on “Boxing Day” and through the rest of the holiday weekend from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm with a suggested donation of $5. Bring your loved ones and friends on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday for a family-friendly holiday treat. Be sure to visit before it closes on Sunday, December 28

The Somerset County Park Commission stewards nearly 15,000 acres of county-owned open space, which is visited by two million park users each year.
