Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw announced that a 55-year-old Camden County man has been convicted of sexually assaulting two young girls over a period of several years.
James Murray, of Berlin, was found guilty on December 17 of two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault (First Degree), three counts of Sexual Assault (Second Degree), two counts of Endangering the Welfare of Child (Second Degree) and one count of Obscenity to Minors (Third Degree).
Following a six-day trial in Superior Court in Mount Holly, jury members deliberated less than three hours before reaching their verdicts.
The Hon. Aimee Belgard, P.J.Cr., scheduled sentencing for March 27, 2026. Due to the circumstances of the offenses, Murray faces a mandatory minimum of 25 years in prison.
Further details of the assaults are being withheld in an effort to protect the victims.
Murray was prosecuted by BCPO Special Victims Unit Assistant Prosecutor Katharine Dolin.
The investigation was conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey State Police. The lead investigator was BCPO Detective Shawn McDonough.
