Seniors Can Get a Healthy Start in 2026 by Visiting a Somerset County Senior Wellness Center
The program schedule for all six Somerset County Senior Wellness Centers, which are operated by the Somerset County Office on Aging & Disability Services, is available for January 2026. All centers will be closed on January 1, 2026, for New Year’s Day, and on January 19, 2026, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Seniors can get a healthy start to 2026 by getting involved at Somerset County Senior Wellness Centers, where they will find the resources they need to be creative, build friendships, and keep New Year’s resolutions.
Whether it’s developing healthier habits, committing to regular exercise with Project Healthy Bones, learning how to stay better connected with friends and family through access to each Center’s computer lab, or just having fun by line dancing with peers, each center offers a variety of activities to keep seniors engaged, educated, and encouraged to make healthier life choices. In addition to physical activities, seniors can also flex their creative muscles by getting involved in artistic programs like resolution watercolor paintings, where they can openly share aspirations and goals for the New Year.
Programs are free for registered members, unless indicated otherwise. Residents must call or visit a wellness center to register. Proof of identification, age, and residency are required.
For anyone aged 60 or older, Somerset County Senior Wellness Centers also offer a nutritionally balanced lunch, Monday through Friday, for a suggested donation of $2.50. The cost of lunch for those under 60 is $8.47. Menu choices include a hot meat-based or meatless entrée or a cold meat-based or meatless boxed lunch. Make lunch reservations prior to 10 a.m. on the previous business day by calling the senior center you wish to attend.
