SOMERVILLE, NJ, Jan. 1, 2026 -- Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) Somerset, an RWJBarnabas Health hospital, welcomed Jayden Mateo Ventura Dehesa as Somerset County’s first baby of 2026 at 9:56 a.m. today. The baby boy was born to Alondra Lizzeth Dehesa Flores and Isrrael Ventura Cortes of Raritan. Jayden weighed 8 pounds and was 20 inches long. He is the couple’s first child.
U.S. News & World Report has rated RWJUH Somerset as “high performing” in maternity care, recognizing that the hospital is well above the national average in the quality of care provided to its patients.
