Free USDA Summer Meals Program to Launch in Manville for Local Children and Eligible Adults
MANVILLE, NJ — To ensure that children in the community continue to receive wholesome, healthy food during the summer break, Manville schools will host the USDA’s Summer Meals Program starting June 29. The program offers completely free breakfast and lunch to youth and eligible adults, filling the nutritional gap left when school cafeterias close for the season.
The program is open to all children 18 years of age or younger. Additionally, adults over the age of 18 who are currently enrolled in programs for persons with disabilities are eligible to receive meals at no cost. No registration, identification, or income verification is required to participate.
Meals will be served Monday through Thursday from June 29 to July 30 at the following two locations:
Manville High School (1100 Brooks Blvd): Breakfast is served from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM; Lunch is served from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM.
Weston Elementary School (1600 Newark Ave): Breakfast is served from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM; Lunch is served from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
"Summer should be a time of joy and growth, not a time where families worry about food insecurity," said [Insert Name/Title, Optional]. "By providing free, accessible meals at our local schools, we are investing in the health and well-being of Manville's youth."
