Sheriff Darrin Russo was officially sworn in for another term as Somerset County Sheriff

On Friday afternoon, Sheriff Darrin Russo was officially sworn in for another term as Somerset County Sheriff, taking the Oath of Office administered by Governor Phil Murphy before a standing‑room‑only crowd.

The ceremony also included the swearing‑in of County Surrogate Tina Jalloh and County Commissioners Melonie Marano and Elizabeth Graner, each beginning new terms of service. Following the ceremony, the Board of County Commissioners held its annual reorganization meeting, selecting Commissioner Shanel Robinson as Director and Commissioner Paul Drake as Deputy Director for the year.

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Honor Guard officiated the proceedings, and Theresa Bonner performed the National Anthem.
