AG Davenport, New Jersey Racing Commission Announce Expansion of Wagering Platform Options as NYRA Bets Goes Live
TRENTON – Attorney General Jennifer Davenport and the New Jersey Racing Commission (NJRC) announced that NYRAbets LLC d/b/a NYRA Bets is live in New Jersey.
The NYRA Bets wagering platform is now available to New Jersey racing fans. NYRA Bets will also now serve as the exclusive managing vendor of New Jersey’s online and mobile pari-mutuel account wagering system for horse racing and will be responsible for recruiting additional operators to launch platforms in the state.
“This is a significant and historic expansion of horse racing fans’ options for pari-mutuel wagering in the Garden State,” said Attorney General Davenport. “I’m pleased my office was able to facilitate this important transition to enhance the wagering experience while maintaining the integrity that NJRC is known for.”
“We know that players want more wagering options, and NJRC staff worked diligently to oversee an orderly, trustworthy, and accurate process,” said Sara Ben-David, NJRC Acting Executive Director. “I’m thankful to everyone for their patience as we prepared for this important milestone.”
Since 2005, horse bettors have had only one option for betting online, the 4NJBets platform currently operated by ODS Technologies, L.P. d/b/a TVG Network, which is owned by FanDuel. The addition of another advanced deposit wagering system injects more competition in the pari-mutuel marketplace.
Wagers on the NYRA Bets platform will be processed by the United Tote Company d/b/a United Tote. The launch of United Tote’s operations in New Jersey follows its establishment of a hub facility in Cherry Hill and the completion of successful testing.
Before today’s launch, all pari-mutuel wagers in New Jersey were processed by a single tote company. All pari-mutuel wagers placed at racetracks, off-track wagering facilities, the casino simulcasting facility, and online at 4njbets.com are currently processed by Global Tote US, LLC d/b/a Global Tote, which is a subsidiary of BetMakers US, Inc. Global Tote will continue to process wagers for the above entities.
Anyone who is struggling with a gambling problem is encouraged to call or text New Jersey’s free helpline – 1-800-GAMBLER – for confidential support. Gamblers who wish to sign up for self exclusion may do so by completing the application form and submitting it in person at an NJRC office location. Click here for more information.
