Somerset County Park Commission Offers Summer Programs Featuring Rainbows, Walks, and Whitewater Rapids

BRIDGEWATER, NJ – Outdoor enthusiasts, nature lovers, and individuals who enjoy science are invited to register for summer programs sponsored by the Somerset County Park Commission. Educational classes about reptiles, water sports, and walking for fitness are just a few of the programs open to the public. Registration begins June 15.

The public can enroll in any of the 30-plus programs available including “Wild for Blueberries,” “Rainbows to Raindrops,” “Untermeyer Park and Gardens Tour” and “Can-U-Cannu?” Programs range from an hour to all day excursions and are appropriate for various ages. Pre-registration and Weather-Appropriate Clothes Are Required

Dress appropriately for the weather and wear waterproof boots when participating in outdoor programs.

  • Pre-registration is required for all programs.
  • Registration for all programs begins on Wednesday, June 15, at 9 a.m.
  • Online registration ends 24 hours before the beginning of each program.
  • Anyone interested in registering after the deadline should contact the Park Commission to find out if there is room in the class by calling 908-722-1200 ext. 5002.
  • Children under 15-years of age who are interested in attending a program listed as “open to all ages” must be accompanied by a registered adult.

Somerset County Park Commission’s COVID Protocols

To ensure the public and county employees are safe, the Park Commission requests that individuals stay home if:

  • Feeling ill
  • Exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19
  • They have been in close contact with someone who has a confirmed case of COVID-19

The Somerset County Park Commission has the authority to ask participants who are not complying with the protocols to leave any program.
