Jonathan Klimuc of Bound Brook, a Freshman in the Electrical Construction program at Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School (SCVTHS), has been selected as Student of the Month for January 2025. Jonathan is the son of Thomas and Lindsey Klimuc of Bound Brook.

Several teachers nominated Jonathan for this honor. English instructor Lauren Heuer praised him for “bringing his knowledge and concepts from other classes into English class” as well as saying that “his thoughtfulness and helpfulness makes him a great peer and friend to those in class.” Electrical Construction instructor Mike McClain added that Jonathan’s behavior, attitude, and how he treats others makes him an exemplary person. These sentiments were echoed by Denise Gotti, Jonathan's Biology instructor, who also noted that he is a truly sincere person who “takes an interest in the lives and well-being of others” as well as having “an easy-going nature that is enjoyable to be around.”

As a freshman, Jonathan still has a few years before graduation – but he is already thinking of the future. He is considering a career in electrical construction or law enforcement, and would like to one day continue his education at the Coast Guard Academy. He has made a good start on his future by being on the Principal’s Honor Roll and is also one of the Electrical Construction delegates to the SCVTHS chapter of SkillsUSA, a national workforce development organization for students.

Outside of school, Jonathan has varied interests. He is an avid reader, is a member of a hand chime choir, runs a Dungeons and Dragons club, and enjoys playing video games and hanging out with friends. He is also a Boy Scout who has earned the Ad Altare Dei emblem.

Jonathan will be honored for his achievement at the Somerset County Vocational Board of Education meeting on January 27th.
