Editorial: Raritan’s Second Annual Food Truck & Music Fest Promises Flavor, Fun, and Community Spirit

As summer winds down, Raritan Borough is gearing up for one of its most anticipated community events: the Second Annual Food Truck and Music Fest, hosted by Relief Hose Company No. 2 of the Raritan Borough Fire Department. On Saturday, September 6, from 11 AM to 7 PM, the Washington School property on 1st Avenue will transform into a lively hub of food, music, and family fun—all for a great cause.

This festival is more than just a chance to indulge in delicious eats. With 18 gourmet food trucks serving up everything from juicy burgers and lobster rolls to empanadas, egg rolls, pizza, and ice cream, there will be something to satisfy every craving. Local favorites like Big John’s Gourmet Burgers, Cousins Maine Lobster, Empanada Mania, Donut NV, and Cold Stone Creamery will line up alongside exciting newcomers to offer a true taste of variety.

But the day isn’t just about food—it’s about community. 

Families can enjoy live music throughout the day, a vibrant Beer, Sangria & Margarita Garden, and a wide array of vendors. Children will find endless entertainment with pony rides, a petting zoo, inflatables, rock wall climbing, mini golf, knockerball, and more.

In true Raritan spirit, the event also gives back. Proceeds will benefit Relief Hose Company No. 2, supporting the dedicated volunteer firefighters who serve and protect our community. Attendees are encouraged to bring a canned or boxed food item to help stock the shelves of the local food pantry.

With a 50/50 raffle, exciting activities, and the promise of great food and good company, this year’s Food Truck and Music Fest is set to be bigger and better than ever. 

So grab your chairs, blankets, and appetites, and come spend the day with your Raritan Neighbors.
