Short Story Update ICYMI: Fire at Bridgewater Target
Early Thursday morning, Bridgewater woke to the sound of sirens as firefighters rushed to the Target store off Dogwood Drive. According to dispatch audio, patrol units arriving on scene reported visible flames in the center of the building, prompting an immediate call for additional fire crews.
The fire was first spotted around 4:46 a.m., and responders worked quickly to assess the source and contain the flames. While details are still emerging and official reports have not yet been released, early indications suggest a structure fire inside the building, with crews entering to prevent the blaze from spreading.
No injuries were mentioned in the initial radio communication, and firefighters remained on site to secure the area and ensure the building was safe for investigators.
Residents nearby reported seeing emergency vehicles lining the roadway as crews worked in the pre‑dawn hours. As of now, the cause of the fire has not been confirmed.
RideWise-area families and Bridgewater shoppers are encouraged to monitor official township and police updates as more information becomes available.
