Montgomery Township Steps Up for Volunteer EMS
In Montgomery Township, keeping our community safe is a shared responsibility — and this year, the Township Committee has made its largest-ever investment in our all-volunteer Montgomery Emergency Medical Services (MEMS).
A total of $195,000 in funding and in-kind contributions is being directed to support MEMS in meeting its most pressing needs. That includes raising the township’s direct contribution to $80,000, reallocating $30,000 in grant funds toward a new ambulance, and securing $50,000 from the Village Walk redevelopment agreement. An additional $10,000 in the capital budget is dedicated to vehicle maintenance.

Beyond funding, the township has loaned two vehicles to expand the EMS fleet, covering all maintenance, insurance, and fuel costs — ensuring these lifesaving resources are ready to roll at any moment.
MEMS isn’t just a service — it’s made up of neighbors, trained EMTs who are ready to respond when crisis calls. By strengthening their tools, Montgomery is strengthening the safety net for everyone who lives, works, and visits here.
In the words of township leadership: supporting MEMS isn’t just a priority — it’s a promise.
