Students from East End and West End Elementary Schools in North Plainfield kicked off a healthy tradition this May by walking to school alongside parents, teachers, and representatives from RideWise. The event promoted physical activity, pedestrian safety, and the simple joy of starting the day with movement and community.
Adding to the excitement, students were joined by a special escort from the North Plainfield Police Department, who helped guide the group safely along the route. The walk served as both a learning experience and a celebration — reinforcing safe walking habits while strengthening the connection between families, schools, and local partners.
Events like this highlight how small steps can make a big impact, encouraging students to stay active, stay aware, and stay connected to the community around them.
