Raritan Borough Police Blotter - Update

On July 17th, 2022 at 6:16 pm, Raritan patrol officers were dispatched to Boro Liquors on Route 206 for a trespassing report. On scene, officers observed Timothy Scott, 53, who stated he is homeless, entering the business. Scott had been previously trespassed from the business by store management. Scott was placed under arrest for trespassing. Scott was processed and released pending a court appearance.

On July 21st, 2022 at 10:21pm, Joseph Zakzewski, 21, of Hillsborough, was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued by Hillsborough Township that was discovered as a result of a traffic stop on Route 206. Zazewski posted the required bail and was released pending a court appearance.

On July 21st, 2022 at 4:49 am, a Raritan patrol officer was conducting a property check at the Quick Chek on the Somerville Traffic Circle. At this time, the officer observed Justin Donnelly, 29, who stated he is homeless, sitting inside the store. Donnelly had been previously trespassed from the business by Quick Chek management. Donnelly was placed under arrest for trespassing. Donnelly was processed and released pending a court appearance.

On July 22nd, 2022 at 12:45 am, Raritan patrol officers were dispatched to a residence on Canal Street for an abandoned 911 call. As officers were investigating the incident they learned a dispute had occurred at the residence. As an officer asked a South Amboy resident for his identification, the male dropped drug paraphernalia on the ground and attempted to flee into the residence. The male was placed under arrest in the residence after a very brief foot pursuit and struggle. The male was charged with numerous drug offenses, Resisting Arrest and Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer. The male was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.

On July 23rd, 2022 at 7:33pm, Raritan patrol officers were dispatched to a Second Avenue residence for an assault. During the course of the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for a 47 year old resident from Belleville for Simple Assault.

On July 24th, 2022 at 5:56am, a Raritan patrol officer observed a 2008 Suzuki SX4 parked on Anderson Street and the rear window had been shattered. The officer observed Ryan Salvagno, 22, of Franklin Township (Somerset), sitting in the vehicle. The officer observed Salvagno only wearing his underwear and bleeding from his right arm. Officer learned that Salvagno did not own the vehicle or know who it belonged to. Salvagno was charged with Criminal Mischief and trespassing. Salvagno was released pending a court appearance.
