WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD OFFERS FREE HIRING-STRATEGY WEBINAR, TARGETED JOB FAIRS AND RESOURCES FOR EMPLOYERS IN SOMERSET, HUNTERDON COUNTIES

A free webinar about branding strategy to help employers in Hunterdon and Somerset counties recruit new hires and the first in a series of in-person, sector-specific recruitment events are among several upcoming programs available to employers looking for new ideas and different ways to hire.

The programs are sponsored by the Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board (GRWDB) and its partners, with the goal of connecting talented job seekers to hundreds of Somerset and Hunterdon County employers looking to hire the right people. Many of these weekly-paying positions are available immediately.

“We know that employers in the two counties have hundreds of jobs open,” said GRWDB Board Chair Joanne Hala. “One-time programs like the hiring strategy webinar and this new recruitment series are designed to help support employers and workers find success. These are just a part of a menu of GRWDB services that include paid incumbent workers and on-the-job training opportunities, along with our area’s many virtual and in-person resources.”

Healthcare Recruitment Event
For the past 18 months, New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development Business Services Representatives have been conducting a series of Virtual Recruitment Events attended by thousands. In May, a successful regional in-person Job Fair was conducted in Bridgewater. Now Greater Raritan Business Services Representative Jessica Johannesen, is planning additional sector-specific in-person recruitments for September and beyond.

A Healthcare Recruitment Event, the first in a series of sector-specific in-person job fairs, will be presented on Tuesday, Aug. 23 in Somerville and will run from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the first-floor conference room at 27 Warren St. Four employers will be represented including Delta Community Supports of Raritan; Fellowship Senior Living of Basking Ridge; Matheny Medical & Educational Center of Peapack-Gladstone; and NJ Eastern Star Home of Bridgewater. The employers will be available for informational discussions, to complete applications and conduct one-on-one interviews.

Hiring Strategy Webinar
The free employer webinar, Champion Your Employee Brand as a Recruitment Strategy, aims to help employers in today’s challenging environment answer questions related to hiring, such as “Why would someone work for your organization?” The webinar will be offered from 11a.m. to 12 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 24. All employers from Hunterdon and Somerset counties are invited to attend.

The GRWDB is working with business and management consultant John Aramini, who assists organizations in the corporate, educational and nonprofit arenas to execute management and operational improvements and attain their goals. “Participants will leave the session understanding the employee experience as a component of their brand description and learn practical ideas to integrate into the employee recruitment and selection process,” Aramini said.
