GOVERNOR MURPHY TOUTS THE COUNTY’S BENEFITS FOR EMPLOYERS AT ROCHE IN BRANCHBURG
BRANCHBURG, NJ – Governor Phil Murphy, in celebrating the groundbreaking of the expanding Roche Molecular Systems manufacturing facility in Branchburg, touted Somerset County’s highly skilled and diverse workforce and its access to regional, national, and international transportation hubs. He specifically credited excellent public schools, Raritan Valley Community College, and proximity to Rutgers University for producing a strong talent pool.
Governor Murphy said Roche’s manufacturing expansion would ensure that the heart of New Jersey’s life sciences advanced manufacturing would continue to be strong right here in Branchburg and Somerset County. In addition to the governor, the event was attended by Roche executives and by elected leaders from Branchburg and Somerset County including the County’s economic development team.
The Roche facility, a Route 202 staple for more than 30 years, is the company’s flagship facility in New Jersey and largest diagnostics operations center in the United States. The expansion will increase its PCR testing facility by approximately 185,000 square feet and grow its workforce by several hundred well-paying jobs.
"Somerset County has everything businesses are looking for, from our highly skilled workforce to our proximity to transportation to our amazing parks and neighborhoods, and that's why companies like Roche not only come here but expand here," said Commissioner Deputy Director Melonie Marano.
