New Jersey American Water Opens 2022 Protect Our Watersheds Art Contest on Imagine a Day Without Water
CAMDEN, N.J. – OCT. 20, 2022 – In honor of Imagine a Day Without Water, New Jersey American Water is proud to announce the opening of its annual Protect Our Watersheds art contest. Open to fourth-grade students in schools located in towns served by New Jersey American Water, as well as to students who live in the company’s service areas, the contest encourages students to tap into their creativity to express the importance of protecting natural water resources.
“Our Protect Our Watersheds art contest plays perfectly into the theme of Imagine a Day Without Water this year, which highlights where our water comes from and where it goes after we’ve used it,” said Mark McDonough, President, New Jersey American Water. “We hope the contest serves as a fun and imaginative way to capture students’ creativity and inspire them to protect and preserve our watersheds for years to come.”
All entries must be postmarked by Nov. 18, 2022. As part of their entry, students must also submit a brief narrative about the personal impact of watershed protection. Three winners will be selected, and all entrants will receive a certificate of recognition. For full contest details, and to learn more about watershed protection, visit www.newjerseyamwater.com.
Led by the Value of Water Campaign, Imagine a Day Without Water is observed on
October 20 each year and focuses on educating the public about the importance of
having accessible water, investing in water infrastructure, and protecting natural water
resources. Each year, New Jersey American Water commemorates the day through
educational outreach, emphasizing the importance of water for everyday usage and
explaining the company’s role in providing it. To learn more about Imagine a Day
