Raritan Police Department Arrest News
On June 2, 2024 at 8:17 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to the NJ Transit Railyard for a trespassing report. On scene, employees reported a male walking along the tracks who was possibly looking into cars on the property. Officers located the male, who was identified as Ryan Herpen, 33, of Clinton. As a result of the incident, Herpen was arrested for trespassing and failing to turn over a controlled dangerous substance (heroin and crack). Herpen was released pending a court appearance.
On June 4, 2024 at 8:42 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to Canal Street for a motor vehicle accident. As a result of the accident, Jason Vario, 45, of Raritan was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Vario was also charged with careless driving, reckless driving and possession of an open container in a motor vehicle. Vario was released pending a court appearance. On June 10, 2024 at 10:55 p.m., Daniel Grant, 36, of Bedminster was arrested following a motor vehicle stop on Route 202. Grant was charged with failure to turn over a controlled dangerous substance (meth) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Grant was also charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended driver’s license. Grant had a warrant for his arrest that was issued by the City of New Brunswick Court. New Brunswick Police Officers took custody of Grant at headquarters.
On June 16, 2024 at 1:36 a.m., patrol officers observed a male sleeping in his vehicle in the parking lot of Retro Fitness on Route 206. Officers spoke with the driver of the vehicle who was identified as Lenyn Zuniga-Lopez, 56, of Raritan. Officers determined that Lopez was intoxicated, and he was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated. Lopez was additionally charged with failure to turn over a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine), reckless driving, careless driving, driving without a license and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Lopez was released pending a court appearance.
On June 18, 2024 at 4:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of the Somerville Traffic Circle for a reckless driver. Officers stopped the vehicle in the area of the circle. Officers determined that the driver of the vehicle, Todd Poston, 46, of Flemington, was intoxicated. Poston was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to turn over a controlled dangerous substance (heroin). Poston was released pending a court appearance.
