ICYMI - Mayor Nick Carra - Celebrates Basilone Day Parade with Community Leaders

From Nick Carra, "Another great Basilone Weekend is in the books. Brian Gallagher won the mayor’s challenge for Saturday’s Basilone Memorial Foundation 5K! Thanks Joyce Melitsky and Gina for walking it with me. It was an honor to meet and speak with Ray Manzo, this year’s Grand Marshal at the honoree dinner Saturday night. We thank him for his service in Vietnam. Also, for creating the Rolling Thunder motorcycle rally to help bring awareness about POWs still in Vietnam to get our government to bring them back home. As it always seems, the weather was absolutely picture perfect on Sunday for the 43rd annual parade. Thank you to the volunteers of the John Basilone Parade Committee who always put on an amazing parade and for the Raritan Borough Police Department, Raritan Borough Fire Department and Public Works for helping to make the parade a success. Lastly, thank you to all the spectators who came to watch and honor John Basilone and all of our veterans who served to protect our freedoms."
