Upcoming 4H Fair Club Spotlight: 4-H Prep Tent and 4-H Sensory Tent - August

Prep Tent
If you’re bringing young children to the Somerset County 4-H Fair, one tent you won’t want to miss that’s bursting with color, creativity, and excitement is the 4-H Prep Tent! The Prep Tent showcases the achievements of children enrolled in 4-H Prep/Cloverbud Program for members in grades K - 3. From arts and animals to cooking and science, each club display reflects the joyful hands-on learning that’s at the heart of 4-H. But this tent isn’t just for viewing - it’s for doing! Non-stop activities invite young fairgoers to dive into crafts, experiments, and playful challenges tailored to curious minds and busy hands. The Prep Tent stage also has entertainment all day long including magic shows, children’s songs, and highly anticipated performances of The Jungle Book by The Clover Ensemble 4-H club with assistance from their sister club, The Prep Ensemble.
Sensory Tent
The Sensory Tent at the 4-H Fair is a calm, welcoming space designed to provide a quiet retreat for individuals who may feel overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the fairgrounds. Outfitted with soft lighting, cozy seating, a variety of sensory tools and quiet activities, the tent offers a soothing environment that supports self-regulation and relaxation. It's especially beneficial for children and adults with sensory sensitivities, including those on the autism spectrum. The Sensory Tent invites guests to take a peaceful moment, recharge, and unwind in comfort.
