BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives Francisco Roman, Jr. and Bridgewater Township Chief of Police John B. Mitzak announced the arrest of Tracy Biondi age 56 of Basking Ridge, New Jersey for cyber-harassment and stalking.Prosecutor McDonald stated that the underlying investigation into defendant Tracy Biondi stemmed from a related investigation involving field hockey coach Brett Clay.

In February 2025 Brett Clay was convicted of 4th Degree Attempted Criminal Sexual Contact after he admitted that he tried to have sexual contact with a juvenile who he coached. The victim in the case, a juvenile female, reported to law enforcement that Brett Clay sent her numerous messages of a sexual nature and offered to send her money in exchange for sexual content. After the conviction, the victim’s family was alerted by friends and community members that anonymous handwritten letters were being disseminated to individuals known to her.

These letters were harassing in nature and contained lewd, indecent, and obscene messages about the victim. In May 2025, detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit were notified of these letters and initiated an investigation. Prosecutor McDonald stated the investigation determined that in addition to the letters, the victim’s friends were also contacted via a social media application by an anonymous individual who made similar harassing, damaging and disparaging statements regarding the victim to her friends.

Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit were able to determine that the social media messages were sent from an account associated with Tracy Biondi. Despite Clay’s conviction and admission of guilt, Defendant Biondi began a relentless campaign to attack the victim of the offense. Biondi manufactured outright lies about the victim and anonymously sent those blatantly false statements to the victim’s friends, teammates and classmates. The purpose of these meritless false statements was to harass and revictimize the victim. Biondi went so far as to call the juvenile victim a “liar’ despite knowing that Clay had admitted the allegations. Biondi spread these malicious lies through handwritten letters and social media.Law enforcement learned that Tracy Biondi, is employed as a School Teacher with the Bridgewater Township School district, who had ties to the field hockey community, and Brett Clay, and openly supported Clay during his criminal matter and attempted to recruit other field hockey families to provide their support for him.

On Thursday, November 13, 2025, detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit and officers from the Bridgewater Police Department arrested Tracy Biondi outside her residence without incident. A Superior Court search warrant was executed in search of additional documents pertaining to this investigation. Defendant Biondi was transported to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office for processing on charges of 4th degree Cyber Harassment, 4th degree Stalking, and Harassment, a disorderly person’s offense. Defendant Biondi was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a hearing on this matter.
