BR Skateboarding Has a Local Announcement from Social Media

The local skate community plans to attend the Somerville Town Council Meeting on October 16th to request the support and guidance of the Administration as we advocate for a community-driven skatepark; A plaza-inspired space that embraces local and regional history, and brings people together. Somerville has been a mecca of East Coast street skating for decades. Since the early 80’s skateboarders have traversed the Raritan-Valley line, attracted to the brick, concrete, and asphalt of urbanesc towns, plazas, and water mitigation infrastructure. It was the home to the first skatepark ever built in Somerset County until its demolition and replacement with a pickleball court. As the two-year anniversary of the tragic loss of Vincent Gagliardi approaches, we dedicate this effort to him and pay tribute to those other rad souls mourned by the local skate community. Ride on in the beyond friends.
