Raritan Still Underwater As Town Slowly Dries Up from Hurricane Ida
Raritan Borough Fire Fighters and Raritan Borough Police have been extremely busy responding to calls and requests from residents after Hurricane Ida.
The power has gone in and out occasionally around the neighborhood. Several stores are open downtown such as DeLucia's and QuickChek should neighbors need any food or beverages while waiting for the power to come back. The Raritan Dollar Tree and TD Bank baseball field have both flooded.
JFK Primary School has canceled today's open house. All students will attend the first day of school on September 9th, as per the JFK PTO announcement today via Facebook.
Local officials have advised Raritan residents to stay patient as responders address immediate emergencies around the neighborhood.
Joyce Melisky, Police Commissioner posted on her Facebook page: "So much appreciation goes out to the volunteer fire departments, police department and other first responders! And a special thank is extended to both Raritan Quick Chek stores for their generous donations! Most of all, please keep the victims of Hurricane Ida in your prayers."
