ICYMI - Gun Shots Fired in Watchung Retail Store
WATCHUNG, N.J. – Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives Francisco Roman Jr., and Watchung Borough Chief of Police Scott Anderle announced an investigation into a report of gun shots fired in the late evening hours of Monday, March 17, 2025, in Watchung.
Prosecutor McDonald stated that on March 17, 2025, at approximately 9:39 p.m., Watchung Police officers responded to a business located on Route 22 West for a report of gun shots fired. Upon arrival, officers observed evidence of gunshot damage to the building of the business. No injuries were reported to be sustained as a result of the shots fired. Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene along with detectives from the Watchung Borough Police Department.
The investigation is ongoing.
