Hunterdon Highlights: Raritan Township is Accepting Applications for Citizen of the Year and other Awards

RARITAN TWP., N.J. (Hunterdon County) — The Township of Raritan is now accepting applications for this year’s Citizen of the Year, Volunteer Group of the Year, and Business of the Year until Sept. 30.

The annual award recognizes citizens, businesses and volunteer organizations whose volunteerism, outstanding service and dedication have made a significant contribution to the Township.

Nominees must be one of the following:

  • Citizen: Candidate must be at least eighteen (≥ 18) years of age or older and be a resident of the Township;
  • Volunteer Group: The organization does not need to be based in the Township, but must have shown dedication, initiative, positive attitude, and a significant contribution to residents; or
  • Business: All nominated establishments must be located in the Township and have had a positive impact on the local economy, expedited job growth, innovation, customer service, employee development, and community involvement.

Nominees will be invited to a future Raritan Township Committee meeting and the identity of the final award winner for each category: Citizen, Volunteer Group, and Business will be made known during this meeting.
