In this informative walk and talk, observe and explore transformations of some of the former lawns of Duke Farms as we discuss the history, sociology, and ecology of lawns and their alternatives. Participants can learn more about native plantings for homes, green spaces or businesses. From large expanses to potted plant arrangements, there's ideas and options for everyone. This guided tour will also introduce participants to some of the seasonal highlights and features of Duke Farms.

This program is appropriate for adults. Please dress for the weather. Participants should be prepared to walk over 1-mile on paved and unpaved trails.

Meet in front of the Farm Barn Orientation Center for check-in. We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes before the start of class. We cannot accommodate late arrivals and the class will depart on time.
