Bridgewater Commons, the more than 1.2 million square foot shopping, dining and entertainment center located in Somerset County, will ring in Lunar New Year in partnership with The Center For Cultural & Creative Exchange (CCCE), treating visitors to the awe and magic of traditional dragon and lion dances and other performances including traditional Chinese dances and a thrilling Chinese Yoyo show in the spirit of the grandest ancient Asian festival signaling the beginning of spring and the arrival of the new year.

Taking place Sunday, Feb. 22 from 1pm – 2pm, performers will be on hand in Center Court to treat visitors to a colorful and lively dragon dance performance in celebration of the Year of the Rabbit. What’s more, lucky audience members will also receive red envelopes, a customary

gifting ritual known as Lai See, containing surprises and good fortune wishes. The free, family-friendly performances will be followed by the chance to take photos with the lions themselves!

What’s more is from 1pm – 6pm, shoppers can enjoy an Asian Arts & Crafts workshop located in the Community Hub.

Bridgewater Commons is located along I-287 at the intersections of Route 22 and Route 202/206 in Somerset County, N.J. Established in 2019, the CCCE is a non-profit organization founded in New Jersey with a twofold mission: to help preserve Chinese culture and heritage and to promote unity, harmony, and respect for all demographic groups within the community.
