Senator Kim Answers Calls for Help; Will Hold Resource Fair to Help Residents Navigate Shut Down
WASHINGTON D.C. –– Today, Senator Andy Kim announced his office will be holding a shut down focused North Jersey resource fair on Monday, October 6th at Raritan Valley Community College. This resource fair will be designed to provide resources and information of how residents can navigate the current government shut down. There will be a second resource fair in South Jersey later this month.
“We have received thousands of messages and calls to our office in the 72 hours, and being back home in Jersey yesterday reinforced these messages; Our residents need real help as the Trump Administration continues to play politics with their lives,” said Senator Andy Kim. “My office heard these calls loud and clear and I am proud to be able to offer this resource fair to those who needs assistance now that the federal government has shut down so that they can find solutions at the local and state levels.”

With over 40 vendors RSVPing ahead of Monday’s fair, North Jersey residents are welcome to attend and speak with organizations, and county and state departments that can answer questions, and provide assistance to the following problems:

· Applying for NJ FamilyCare (Medicaid) and GetCoveredNJ (ACA)
· Disability, Veteran, and Senior services
· Legislative, County, and State Office representatives
· NJ office of the Attorney General — Division of civil
· rights, Division of consumer affairs
· Food and Energy assistance

· Domestic violence and child support assistance
